The former Platinum Stars goalkeeper is currently a free agent after his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns expired at the end of last month.

Sandilands has also been linked with a move to Maritzburg United, who are reported to have already placed an offer and are awaiting the gloveman’s response.

However, according to a source close to the 33-year-old goalkeeper, the player has met with representatives from the Buccaneers but is waiting on his agent to return from overseas before any decision is made.

"Pirates have made the offer and are very much interested to sign Sandilands,” the source tells KickOff.com.

"His [Sandiland’s] agent is currently overseas and the deal could happen when he arrives back South Africa.”
