Platinum Stars line up Luvolwethu Mpeta after SuperSport United exit

Posted: 11 July 2017 Time: 12:24

Luvolwethu Mpeta looks set to re-join Platinum Stars following his release from SuperSport United.

According to a reliable source close to Mpeta, the defender could return to Dikwena by the end of the week.

"Mpeta met with SuperSport United, they have agreed to release him," says the source.

"He is currently in talks with Platinum Stars and the deal could be finalised this week."

Mpeta made 10 league starts on loan at Stars last season after struggling for game-time at SuperSport, having initially traded the Phokeng-based outfit for Matsatsantsa in January 2015.

Dikwena recently signed defender Sibusiso Mthethwa and striker Maboke Matlakala from Baroka, while fellow forward Thobani Kunene has returned from a loan spell at Real Kings.

However, Kobamelo Kodisang, Ndumiso Mabena, Henrico Botes, Tintswalo Tshabalala and Solomon Mathe are among the players to have left the Premiership side ahead of 2017/18.
