New SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has recruited fitness trainer Zac van Heerden in the only change to his technical team.
The ex-Bidvest Wits conditioning coach began his duties at Matsatsantsa during the CAF Confederation Cup game against CF Mounana at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday. United mauled Mounana 4-1 to advance to the quarter-finals of the continental tournament.
Tinkler was in the stands during the contest due to registration issues as assistant coach Kaitano Tembo supervised the dugout.
"I am not making any changes," says Tinkler. "The only change made is bringing Zac to be our conditioning coach. He is somebody I worked with in the past during my time at Wits. It's somebody who understands how I want us to train in terms of the conditioning of the players."
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder also sang the praises of Tembo, who has impressed in the hotseat since Stuart Baxter recently left the Tshwane giants to take charge of Bafana Bafana on a permanent basis.
"He has a great future ahead of him. He has a good head on his shoulders. He understands the game well. He has done extremely well with the team against TP Mazembe and Horoya. I see a bright future for him," concludes Tinkler, who guided Cape Town City to Telkom Knockout honours and a third-placed finish in the league last term.
