Esperance head into the CAF Champions League quarter-finals as top seeds after seeing off St George 4-0 in the final round of Group C fixtures on Sunday.

The Tunisians entered this weekend’s clash top of the group, one point ahead of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, who missed the chance to even challenge for top spot after being held to a 1-1 draw against AS Vita Club.

REPORT: Sundowns held at home by AS Vita Club

Esperance highlighted their superiority in the group as Khalil Chemmam and Bilel Mejri gave them a comfortable two-goal lead heading into the half-time break against St George.

The home fans would then have to wait until the final 10 minutes for another goal as Esperance finally added their third through Haythem Jouini.

They weren't done yet though and would add another goal late on via Ali Machani to cap off the group stages in style.
