Downs rally fans for CAF home clash

Mamelodi Sundowns have only two squad concerns ahead of this weekend’s CAF Champions League clash against AS Vita Club, with Khama Billiat and Siyanda Zwane unlikely to feature.

The Brazilians are already guaranteed their place in the first knockout round of Africa’s premier club cup competition following last week’s 1-0 win over St George, although there is still top spot in Group C up for grabs.

However, the Tshwane giants will have to do it without Billiat, who remains a long-term absentee through injury, while Zwane is expected to miss the tie due to fasting.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s visit of AS Vita Club, Sundowns communications co ordinator Thulani Thuswa urged the club’s fans to follow captain Hlompho Kekeana’s request to turn up in numbers at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

“We know we can create the same vibe. We have done it before, so let’s go out there and make it a big day for the Tshwane Giants,” Thuswa said on Sundowns’ official website.”

“The captain has asked for this and appealed for a high turnout. A siyeni Masandawana.”
