Jomo Biyela: Roger Sikhakhane coaching Richards Bay following AmaZulu's purchase of Thanda Royal Zulu's PSL status

Posted: 6 July 2017 Time: 19:38

Richards Bay FC owner Jomo Biyela says coach Roger Sikhakhane will work at the newly formed National First Division club this coming season.

Former Thanda Royal Zulu CEO Biyela effectively acquired AmaZulu's second-tier franchise after Usuthu bought Amabhubesi's Absa Premiership status. The PSL on Thursday confirmed they had approved the acquisition.

Former Chippa United mentor Sikhakhane guided Thanda to topflight promotion by comfortably claiming NFD honours in 2016/17.

"The new team is officially mine and it will be called Richards Bay FC. So in other words I bought the NFD status of AmaZulu," Biyela tells this website.

"I'm keeping the whole technical team that was with Thanda Royal Zulu last season with me, including the coach Sikhakhane."
