SuperSport United have announced the departure of New Zealand defender Michael Boxall.
The 28-year-old's contract expired at the end of June, with the two parties since failing to agree on terms of a new deal.
Boxall joined his compatriot Jeremy Brockie at Matsatsantsa at the start of the 2015/16 season on a free transfer from Wellington Pheonix in his home country.
SuperSport have explained that negotiations had broken down following the player's return from the recent FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia, where he represented the All Whites.
"Negotiations for a long-term deal with Boxall have fallen through because of the club not being able to agree terms with the defender," announced the club on their official Facebook page.
Club CEO Stan Matthews further commented: “We had an option on Michael’s contract which we did not want to exercise unconditionally.
"We offered him an amended option which he has declined, a decision which we respect. Michael served us extremely well in his time at the club, we wish him every success in his future."
