Following South Africa’s win over Botswana in their COSAFA Cup Plate semi-final on Tuesday, midfielder Riyaad Norodien feels that it was more than just a victory for the team, but for the supporters as well.

“I think we can take a lot from this performance going on to the next game," he told SAFA.

"We just need to keep working and keep getting these results ‘cause it’s important for South African football and also for the fans. We need to keep them happy so we dedicate this victory the fans.”

The Orlando Pirates winger was on the scoresheet against Botswana, striking the ball into the top corner in the first half. A late goal from Judas Moseamedi left the final score at 2-0.

Norodien and the rest of Bafana Bafana move on to the Plate final where they will face Namibia at Moruleng Stadium on Friday with kick off scheduled for 17h00.
