Manzini identifies Chippa's weakness

Chippa United hitman Lerato Manzini has identified the root of the Chilli Boy's recent woes, citing the sale of the club's stars as being at the heart of the problem.

The Eastern Cape-based side have developed a habit of selling their most established stars and replacing them with inexperienced youngsters according to Manzini.

In recent times Chippa United have had to contend with the departures of notable players such as Xola Mlambo, Eric Chipeta, William Twala, Joseph Molangoane, James Okwuosa, Marc van Heerden and Thembinkosi Lorch.

Manzini was prompted to air his frustrations due to Orlando Pirates' recent acquisition of yet another of Chippa's stars in Thamsanqa Sangweni.

"I think this thing of losing key players in the team at the end of the season is very vital to teams like us [Chippa] because we struggle to get that kind of quality again," Manzini tells KickOff.com.

"So it's always going to take a long time to throw a younger player in the deep end because you might break or make him."
