A modest Manyama revealed his admiration for Hlatshwayo and Kekana whilst reflecting upon times in which he has taken inspiration from the pair.

"It's been a long road from where we [Cape Town City] came from in ten months. Just to be [nominated] is an honour," KICK OFF's Player of the Year told reporters.

"Obviously I have huge respect for both of them [Hlatshwayo and Kekana], I've known them for a couple of years. They are captains of arguably two of the best teams in South Africa.

"I'm just happy to be here with them - two of the best players at this moment. They are where they are now through hard work and believing in what they wanted.

"I have spoken to them many times before and they have been some of the people that I have looked up to in terms of how they show up for games and I've taken a couple of things from them over the years."
