KickOff.com has established that Mamelodi Sundowns are making frantic attempts to keep goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands at Chloorkop next season.
It appeared that Masandawana were content to let Sandilands leave when his contract expired last Friday but the club have since changed their tune.
Sandilands did not travel with the team for their game in Ethiopia over the weekend as Sundowns saw off St George to advance to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
The 33-year-old goalminder is currently a free agent but does now have an option on the table from the Tshwane-based outfit.
Sandilands' manager Glyn Binkin confirmed having met with Sundowns on Monday.
"We met with Sundowns. The offer has been made and still under consideration," stated Binkin.
Sandilands is regarded as the third choice stopper at the club, behind Denis Onyango and Kennedy Mweene and featured in just eight games in all competitions last season.
