Orlando Pirates have first preference on the signing of Thanda Royal Zulu's Ayabulela Konqobe

Orlando Pirates have first preference on the signing of Ayabulela Konqobe following an impressive season with Thanda Royal Zulu in the first division.

For all the hullabaloo that has been created around Konqobe the fact is that he remains under contract at Thanda and has even reported back for pre-season training at the club’s base in Richards Bay.

The sale of Thanda’s franchise to AmaZulu is what will then pave the way for the 21-year-old to make a move.

KickOff.com has been told that Pirates have made an indication of their interest in Konqobe and now merely need to firm it up.

Communication has apparently been made between the two clubs and once The Bucs make a conclusive decision the player will then be advised to travel to Johannesburg to complete all formalities related to his contract.

It is actually Pirates that will be calling the shots in this deal which those in the know now say is a matter of ‘when’ instead of ‘if’.

This website also understands that Konqobe’s name has been thrown around to several clubs by unscrupulous individuals who have been claiming that he is a free agent yet he remains under contract at Thanda.
