Myeni: Now I can walk tall

Bidvest Wits midfielder Sifiso Myeni says he can now walk with his head held up high after he was dumped by Orlando Pirates.
Deemed surplus to requirements by coach Muhsin Ertugral before the start of the 2016/17 PSL season, Myeni was put on the transfer list.
After one season in his second stint with the Clever Boys, he is now a league and cup double winner, while Pirates finished outside the top eight in arguably their worst season in PSL history.
“I was transfer listed at Pirates and that came as a shock. I did not know what would happen with my career, but look at me now,” Myeni tells KickOff.com.
“In a way I was frustrated, but I would like to thank Jose Ferreira and coach Gavin Hunt because they brought me into a winning team. Winning this title means a lot. It will stay with me because we made history. Now I can walk tall.”
Myeni will be fighting to get more game time Wits next season after playing a bit part role in the club's league and cup double winning season. He made just 10 starts and came on as a substitute 14 times in all competitions.
“When we started the team was doing well and obviously I could not play. The coach tried to fit me in. It's difficult to come in a team that had a pre-season and you did not have pre-season," he adds.
"Now I am starting pre-season with the team. My priority is to get into the starting line-up and play more games than last season."
