Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed the club's interest in signing midfielder Daylon Claasen ahead of the upcoming season.
The reigning Absa Premiership and MTN8 champions are expected to strengthen their squad prior to getting the defence of their titles underway in August, especially with a couple of players set to leave Sturrock Park on July 1.
Having already been linked with Thamsanqa Sangweni, the latest speculation is that the Clever Boys are looking at signing Claasen, who has been plying his trade at 2 Bundesliga club 1860 Munich for the past three seasons and becomes a free agent from the start of next month.
"He [Claasen] is coming in the morning. Of course [we're hoping to sign him]. I don't do all those stuff but he's arriving [for training] in the morning," Hunt confirmed.
"I feel, with [Mogakolodi] Ngele going, we need 'the pass', do you understand? You need 'the pass', like every team needs that final ball and I think Claasen can give us that."
The 27-year-old former Ajax Cape Town attacker, who can also play as a winger, has nine Bafana Bafana caps to his name and boasts experience in Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Germany.
