Platinum Stars keen on SuperSport United's Luvolwethu Mpeta

Posted: 28 June 2017 Time: 13:36

Platinum Stars are keen to keep defender Luvolwethu Mpeta on a permanent basis.

Mpeta is currently on loan to Stars from SuperSport United, but is due to return to Matsatsantsa for pre-season training along with Thato Mokeke, who was farmed out to Cape Town City in 2016/17.

Dikwena general manager Senzo Mazingiza has confirmed his club's interest in retaining Mpeta.

"We are interested to keep him," says Mazingiza.

"We were waiting for SuperSport United to finish with their cup game before we engage them," he adds, referring to United's Nedbank Cup final victory over Orlando Pirates in Durban on the weekend.

Stars are also trying to secure fellow loanees Enocent Mkhabela and Bongi Ntuli's services for 2017/18.
