Bidwits Wits seem favourites to land the signature of midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni.
The Chippa United captain, who trained with Wits this morning, is still under contract with the Chilli Boys but is touted to move to the Premier Soccer League champions when the transfer window opens on July 1.
KickOff.com revealed that club boss Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi was weighing up offers for the midfielder and would allow him to leave.
The 28-year-old Sangweni is highly regarded and has been previously linked to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
The versatile player would add quality to Gavin Hunt's side as he can operate in a deep-lying midfield role or as an attacking option.
The Clever Boys have also cast their eye on Maritzburg United skipper, Kurt Lentjies - with a number of clubs interested in his signature - as they look to build on a successful 2016/17 campaign.
KickOff.com recently reported that the club has also tied down goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs on a new deal after enquiries were made for his services by former club, Pirates to solve their long-standing goalkeeping issues.
