Bidvest Wits CEO Jose Ferreira says the club has not yet received any offers for want away midfielder Jabulani Shongwe, who still remains contracted to the club.

The 27-year-old made just two appearances for the Clever Boys this season, both in the Nedbank Cup, and has not held back in signalling his future intentions, stating he wishes to be at a team “where there is life”.

Despite Shongwe's agent Jazzman Mahlakgane recently telling this website that the Braamfontein side had not agreed take up a one-year option in the player’s contract, Wits CEO Ferreira says this is not the case, and that Shongwe is still contracted to the Absa Premiership champions for another year.

Ferreira says no club has approached him for the midfielder’s services, with the player set to see out his contract with the Students should nothing materialise.

"No, no one has approached us," Ferreira tells KickOff.com.

"No team has approached us yet, but he is not a free agent and there is no option left; there is a full contract and it expires at the end of next season.

"If no club comes forward for him, then he will still be with Bidvest Wits next season."
