Moriri waiting on Highlands offer

Surprise Moriri tells he is still awaiting a new contract offer from Highlands Park, and that he should be able to clarify his situation next month.

The Lions of the North signed Moriri last year November after he left Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the 2016/17 season, having failed to agree terms on a new contract at Chloorkop.

The 37-year-old former Bafana Bafana international only signed for one season with Highlands, which makes him a free agent at the moment.

And he admits he remains unsure whether he will still be with the club when they begin preparations for life back in the National First Division.

“I will know that [his contract situation] in three weeks’ time,” Moriri tells

Highlands Park were relegated from the Absa Premiership this past season, a year after winning promotion through the play-offs, but club director Brad Kaftel previously underlined their desire to retain both Moriri and Collins Mbesuma as they seek an immediate return to the Absa Premiership.
