Agent apologises, Bvuma happy

Football agent Cleopas Monyepao has moved to clarify Bruce Bvuma’s situation at Kaizer Chiefs, insisting the goalkeeper is more than happy at the club.

Media reports over the weekend caused an uproar after it was claimed the Amakhosi shot-stopper was earning just R5,000 a month, despite playing first-team football in the latter part of the recently-concluded PSL season.

However, the reports failed to mention that Bvuma was, and still remains, part of the Glamour Boys’ development structures, with the club on Monday releasing a statement which revealed his inclusion in the Chiefs first team was due to an “emergency situation” after injuries to Itumeleng Khune and Brilliant Khuzwayo.

Bvuma’s manager Monyepao, also known as DJ Cleo, has since quashed any talk of unrest from his client, while also apologising to the Soweto club for any disrepute brought about by the reports.

“He [Bvuma] is very happy, his parents are happy. I'm happy and will continue to support him. Greater things are to come from him,” Monyepao tells KickOff.com.

“I'd like to apologise to the Kaizer Chiefs family for the commotion that the Sunday World article has caused, and plead with the soccer fraternity at large to allow the young man to grow without all this unnecessary pressure,” adds Monyepao.
