Sipho Senne insist Platinum Stars still have a chance in Africa

Platinum Stars midfielder Sipho Senne feels all is not lost despite the club’s dire log position ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup group stage clash against CS Sfaxien.

Stars host the Tunisians on Wednesday night sitting bottom of group B with just a solitary point, having conceded eight goals in their three group stages matches so far.

Despite five points behind Sfaxien, against who they lost 3-0 earlier this month in north Africa, Senne insists his club will still continue their fight in the competition.

“We haven’t lost hope and focus,” he said. “If we win on Wednesday, we will still have a chance to progress in the competition.

"We are playing the number one team which has just six points. A win will do us good.”

Senne knows it won’t be easy, but hopes his side have learnt from their errors in the reverse fixture to help them to earn maximum points at home.

“We are hungry for a win,” he continued. “We know that it’s not going to be easy. We have to attack. We are not going to defend at home.

"We can’t give them a chance. In Tunisia, we panicked a bit. We can’t afford to make the same mistakes at home.

“I am confident that we can win the game.”

Kick-off at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium is set for 19:00.
