Clayton Daniels trusts SuperSport United management to find balance during competitive pre-season

SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels has brushed off concerns that the players might risk burning out as their CAF Confederation Cup campaign continues.

While the majority of top-flight clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs, will only report for pre-season at the end of July, Matsatsantsa have continental commitments and host TP Mazembe at Lucas Moripe Stadium tomorrow before flying to Durban to face Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.

The Pretoria giants also have plenty of international stars who have represented their country in various global competitions this past week.

And with SuperSport hoping for a deep run in the Confed Cup, which could take them all the way into the 2017/18 Premiership season, concerns over player fitness have been raised, although Daniels is confident the United technical team can find the right balance.

"No, we are not worried [about burning out]. We trust the management,” Daniels tells

"I think the [SuperSport United] management is working around the clock to find the right balance between training and off days because we've seen what happened to other teams."
