Black Leopards midfielder Mumuni Abubakar to make top flight move

Posted: 18 June 2017 Time: 21:08

KickOff.com can reveal that Ghanaian midfielder Mumuni Abubakar has decided against staying with Black Leopards after the club failed to win promotion to the Absa Premiership.

Leopards' hopes of returning back to the PSL went up in smoke after they drew 1-1 with Baroka FC in a Limpopo Derby at Thohoyandou stadium on Saturday.

Abubakar's contract with Lidoda Duvha is set to expire at the end of this month and he has no intention of accepting a renewal.

According to a source close to the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, the player is set for a switch to the PSL next season with both Bloemfontein Celtic and Free State Stars reported to be chasing his signature.

"Mumuni is leaving Black Leopards," said the source.

"Two PSL teams have already made contact and are expected to make decision before he leaves to Ghana for holidays."
