SuperSport United are set to hold talks with Mandla Masango after next weekend’s Nedbank Cup final, with the intention of making his return to the country permanent.
Masango joined Matsatsantsa on loan from Danish side Randers FC, reuniting with his former coach Stuart Baxter in the January transfer window on a six-month agreement.
The former Kaizer Chiefs winger was frozen out at Randers, with United offering him an escape route for six months, in which the 27-year-old made 12 league starts, scoring three goals.
With that deal almost over now, Masango - who has refused to speak openly of what happened at his Danish club - has only 14 days left to sort out his next destination, with a future in Pretoria a distinct possibility.
SuperSport CEO Stanley Matthews says he'll engage the player and the club after the Nedbank Cup final in Durban against Orlando Pirates.
"We'll engage them [Randers FC] after the Cup final and see if we can reach a common ground." Matthews tells KickOff.com.
Masango and his troops will be keen to send outgoing Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter off in fine style by lifting the trophy in next week's final, a repeat of last year’s showdown in which SuperSport emerged victorious over the Bucs.
