Lebo Mothiba secures second loan spell with French side Valenciennes

Posted: 16 June 2017 Time: 15:44

French side Valenciennes have confirmed that South African Under-23 striker Lebo Mothiba will spend the 2017/18 season at the club on loan from rivals Lille.

As reported on KickOff.com earlier in the week, the French club were  keen to retain the talented forward, and officially announced the loan move on Friday.

Mothiba joined Lille at the start of the season, but after fining game-time hard to come by, was loaned out to Valenciennes in January, scoring two goals in the nine matches in which he featured since.

Valenciennes have now secured the striker’s services for another year as the 21-year-old, who was part of Owen da Gama’s Olympic side last year, eyes regular game-time to boost his chances of a Bafana Bafana call-up.
