Puleng Tlolane alleges he has no involvement in the deal with Chippa United

Posted: 10 June 2017 Time: 21:16

Polokwane City striker Puleng Tlolane has alleged that he "never signed with Chippa United" and says he is shocked with all the rumours circulating in the media.

Reports earlier this week surfaced with Chilli Boys boss Chippa Mpengesi telling Sowetan that the club have scured the services of Tlolane as well as Maritzburg United's Kurt Lentjies on free transfers.

However, controversy soon struck as KickOff.com learnt that Mpengesi had been duped as Tlolane's deal with City is only set to end at the end of next season.

Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia then told this website that Lentjies is in fact contracted until June 2018.

Football agent Lizwe Mthethwa then came out to deny claims that he had conned Mpengesi with a fraudulent contract signed by his client Tlolane.

Documents forwarded exclusively to KickOff.com then proved the conversation held between Mpengesi and Mthethwa, as well as a copy of the alleged fake contract with what appeared to be Tlolane's signature.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old attacker has for the first time come out and attempted to clear the air surrounding the various reports.

"I dont understand all that has been written about me, and I've never signed with Chippa United," Tlolane tells our website.

"These people [Mpengesi and Mthethwa] are crazy because I'm a player of Polokwane City, so i don't understand all this. I'm even shocked and I don't know what is going on.

"This doesn't absolutely make sense. I'm confused. Currently, I'm at Ekasi [my hometown in Limpopo] and I also saw the story saying I've signed for Chippa United, along with Kurt Lentjies, so I'm really shocked and asking myself what is going here?"

The former Winners Park frontman also denies that Mthethwa is his agent, saying Jazzman Mahlakgane was his last representative but their affiliation has since ended.

"I know Lizwe Mthethwa, but he's not my agent. I don't have an agent. Jazzman was previously my agent but not anymore," he adds.

"I can assure you I'm not a Chippa United player and I'm not a Cape Town City player. I still have a contract with Polokwane City and it's a long-term contract. This story of Chippa, I dont know where it comes from."

Tlolane has demanded his name be cleared and reiterates his commitment to Rise and Shine, as he bemoans the confusion that has caused him distress.

"For the sake of my name, all these stories that have been written and people who have been saying they are representing me, I don't know them," he says.

"They are new to me. I'm still a Polokwane City player and I have a long-term contract with them. I don't know anything about Chippa and I don't even know him [Mpengesi], and I guess he doesn't know me either.

"I can't even eat. This thing is confusing. Even my parents at home are going crazy and they want to know if I have signed with Chippa United or not, but they know I am a Polokwane City player and they've been fighting with me ever since, so I don't know all these stories.

"If someone wants me, they know what channels to follow and they must approach Polokwane City, that's it!"
