Agent Lizwe Mthethwa rubbishes claims he defrauded Chippa United chairman Chippa Mpengesi

Football agent Lizwe Mthethwa tells KickOff.com he did not scam Chippa United, and that, in fact, it is the club who owe Aftersec Sports Group money.

Reports this week claimed that Mthethwa scammed Chippa over the signing-on fees for Polokwane City striker Puleng Tlolane, who is still seemingly contracted to Rise and Shine until 2018 and who will not be joining Chippa.

However, this website has since been informed that Mpengesi is the one who owes Mthethwa previous agent fees for when he brought Thami Sangweni to Chippa United at the start of 2014/15 season from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The agent also claimed the same happened with striker Lerato Manzini when he joined in 2015/16 after parting ways with Bloemfontein Celtic.

This website understands Mthethwa and his lawyer Claudio Bollo, who was in the news recently after winning the unfair dismissal case for former Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba against SAFA, are now preparing to counter-sue Mpengesi over slander and defamation of character.

“I never scammed or conned Chippa. There were no documents submitted by me or my company [Aftersec Sports Group] but Chippa owes me money from previous transactions,” Mthethwa tells KickOff.com.

“When he [Mpengesi] inquired about my client I told him I can't work with him because he still owes me money so he must fix his previous mistakes by depositing money. He is not a very honest person and I'm sure there's plenty of agents he owes money to and my lawyers are working on a counter lawsuit for slander and defamation of character. We'll be serving him with court papers very soon.”

Another agent, who requested to remain anonymous, also tells this website that Mpengesi owes him close to R300,000 for a player he previously brought to the Port Elizabeth-based club.
