Kurt Lentjies surrenders to Maritzburg United contract despite interest from elsewhere

Posted: 9 June 2017 Time: 10:12

Whilst rumours abound that Kurt Lentjies is seeking a move away from Maritzburg United, the player has conceded that he is still under contract with the club.

KickOff.com has already established that there is interest in the 32-year-old from both Chippa United and Cape Town City whilst new information reaching this website suggests that former club Bloemfontein Celtic wish to re-sign him.

Team of Choice boss Farook Kadodia yesterday revealed that Lentjies still had a year left on his contract and all interested parties would have to come through the club should they intend to poach the midfielder.

Speaking in an interview with KickOff.com, Lentjies acknowledged that a year remained on his contract and reaffirmed that any negotiations for his signature would have to be conducted through his current employers.

"I am still left with one year on my contract with Maritzburg United," said Lentjies.

"Any team interested in me should speak to Maritzburg."
