KickOff.com has been informed that Siphelele Mthembu will finally find his way out of Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the month as a free agent when his contract expires.
Mthembu joined Chiefs on a three-year deal from Platinum Stars at the beginning of the 2014-15 season.
Through his time at Naturena – his second spell there – Mthembu hasn’t found much joy.
He saw no action this past season and started six matches [plus 15 substitute appearances], scoring once in the previous campaign while in his first season, he started five games [plus 23 substitute appearances] and scored four goals.
So through his three years at Chiefs, the 29-year-old has five goals – disappointing for a forward who arrived with high expectations from Dikwena where he scored a dozen goals in 38 starts.
Word is that Mthembu’s name is already being thrown around at several clubs where it is felt he might revive his career yet again.
Chiefs have struggled to find a way of getting rid of Mthembu through the last year since placing him on their list of players that are available on transfer.
AmaKhosi are apparently working on a major reshuffle of their forward line with at least three of their forwards set to depart.
