Free State Stars striker Allen Nono staying at Ea Lla Koto despite limited game-time in 2016/17

Free State Stars striker Allen Nono is staying put despite barely featuring for the team this past season, according to the player's agent Saheed Adebayo.

The Gabonese hitman joined Ea Lla Koto during the January transfer window on a three-year deal with a one-year option, but he got injured and was restricted to four substitute outings in 2016/17.

His last appearance was against Maritzburg United in late February as Stars suffered a 2-1 away defeat.

The intention of Nono's signing was to provide cover for Thokozani Sekotlong who was troubled by injuries last term, while former PSL Golden Boot winner Moeketsi Sekola was experiencing a dry spell in front of goals for the club.

Nono's peripheral role to date in Bethlehem raised question marks on his future, but Adebyo insists the 24-year-old will remain with the Premiership outfit.

"Nono's still there, the Gabonese boy was injured but he's fine now," Adebayo tells KickOff.com

"He's still got two years on his contract with a one-year option. He'll still be part of the club next season."

Nono, who was part of the Gabonese side that featured at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, previously played for US Bitam, USM Libreville, Olympique Khouribga and AS Mangasport in his homeland.

Stars, who avoided relegation by drawing their last match of the campaign with Chippa United, are set to make changes to their personnel, with indications suggesting coach Serame Letsoaka will not see the option on his contract renewed after penning a short-term deal in December.
