Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has rubbished claims they are currently in negotiations with defender Robyn Johannes over a contract extension.
The defender was one of the Citizens’ numerous standout performers in their debut PSL season as he helped them clinch the Telkom Knockout title in December before earning a third-placed finish in the Absa Premiership.
However, recent claims in the media that the 30-year-old former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player's contract with City is set to expire at the end of this month have proven false.
"Robyn Johannes has a three-year contract with us,” Comitis tells KickOff.com.
"He is still very much with us, he is our player and it has always been like that. It's not like as if we've recently renewed his contract or anything."
Cape Town City have moved quickly to strengthen their options in the off-season after the Mother City club announced the signing of two new players, namely Bafana Bafana midfielder Ayanda Patosi and Mozambique international Jeitoso.
