South Africa coach Stuart Baxter has called up Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda for the African Nations Cup qualifier with Nigeria in Uyo on Saturday.
Mabunda has been enlisted as a replacement for injured Downs teammate Hlompho Kekana.
Bafana assembled in Johannesburg on Sunday, and will depart for Lagos on Wednesday in what will be Baxter's first assignment since returning to the national team hotseat last month.
The Brit has roped in experienced goalkeeper coach Alex Heredia to assist with preparations. He is expected to announce the rest of his technical team and captain at a press conference today at the Southern Sun Hotel at Monte Casino in Fourways.
Baxter has taken over the reins from Ephraim Mashaba on a five-year deal. 'Shakes' was fired in December 2016 but did not go out with a fight, eventually reaching a settlement with SAFA after challenging the grounds of his dismissal through the CCMA.
