KickOff.com can confirm that veteran striker Esau Kanyenda’s future at Polokwane City is hanging in the balance.
Kanyenda is out contract at the end of the month having agreed to a new deal at the beginning of the season, which stretched his time to five years with the club.
Polokwane is the only club that Kanyenda has played for since his return from a lengthy spell in Russia at the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
“His contract is up at the end of June with the club yet to make any commitment with regards to an extension,” says a source.
Though the club is already on off-season, the 35-year-old is yet to travel back to Malawi as he is believed to be awaiting clarification over his future in Polokwane.
The amount of game-time that Kanyenda has received in the last two years has dwindled yet he remains an influential squad player.
Kanyenda still has the option of heading back home to play for Big Bullets should he not be able to find another PSL club to play for next season.
