Zambian defender Davies Nkausu headlines the list of players that have been deemed excess to requirements at Free State Stars following the club’s survival from relegation.
Nkausu – who made his last appearance in Stars colours in December last year – is joined at the exit door by Thabang Matuka, Mbuyiselo Thethani, Nyiko Tshabangu, Angelo Kerspuy and Charles Kampi.
The 31-year-old had 13 appearances from the past season having signed at the beginning of last year after a messy separation from Bloemfontein Celtic.
Matuka didn’t play a single game after being signed as a free agent in January, Thethani managed 12 appearances in all competitions, Tshabangu had just three, Kerspuy nine while Kampi had six appearances across all competitions.
Also leaving Stars is the duo of Thatho Thlone and Moeketsi Sekola who have signed pre-contracts with Bidvest Wits and Highlands Park respectively.
