Mamelodi Sundowns exercise option on Siyanda Zwane

Posted: 1 June 2017 Time: 12:45

KickOff.com can reveal that Mamelodi Sundowns have exercised their option to retain defender Siyanda Zwane for another season.

Zwane's initial contract at Chloorkop was set to expire at the end of this month, however the Brazilians have since acted swiftly to ward off the 31-year-old's potential suitors.

According to an official close to the club, Zwane will remain a Sundowns player until at least June 2018.

"Siyanda's contract was set to expire in June but [the club] has an option, [which has] since been excercised and the player is staying with Sundowns next season," says the official.

The full-back joined Pitso Mosimane's side in 2014, after nine years at Golden Arrows, and has been a key figure over the last three seasons, barring an injury-laden 2016/17 campaign.
