The future of striker Moeketsi Sekola remains uncertain following Highlands Park’s relegation to the National First Division on Saturday.
Sekola signed a pre-contract with Highlands in January this year, with a view to join the team next season from current club Free State Stars, with the 28-year-old's contract with Ea Lla Koto set to expire at the end of next month.
The Lions of the North assistant coach Thierry Mulonzo has confirmed that the club management and technical team will meet this week to discuss the issue of players amongst other things, and map a way forward in the NFD.
Players like Collins Mbesuma, Thanduyise Khuboni and Surprise Moriri could leave due to the club’s limited budget.
"We are having a meeting this week and we will assess the situation,” said Mulonzo.
"If we can keep this team, we can bounce back. We are good enough to stay there.
"We have good players, but if the players will want to remain in the PSL, that is another ball game. But if we keep this team, it will be a much easier job for us.”
In 27 appearances this season across all competitions, Sekola netted just two goals, combined with four assists, as Stars narrowly missed a relegation play-off spot on goal difference, finishing 14th in the league.
