Fadlu Davids doesn't want Maritzburg United job just yet

Posted: 23 May 2017 Time: 10:55

Fadlu Davids has reiterated he does not want to be the head coach of Maritzburg United next season despite impressing as a caretaker boss this term.

Davids has twice been handed the reins in 2016/17 following the shock resignations of Ernst Middendorp and Roger de Sa.

The former midfielder has gotten results in both stints, guiding the club to the brink of a top-eight finish ahead of their final game of the campaign against struggling Bloemfontein Celtic at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday (15h00).

Davids, however, wants to further his qualifications before taking on a head coaching role on a permanent basis.

"I said it the first time when I was interim coach after Ernst Middendorp resigned," says Davids.

"I know I will be a head coach one day, it's not about being afraid. I have a clear target to complete my Uefa licences. I have just finished my CAF B licence and I want to go all way to Uefa PRO.

"I know coaching is a lifestyle, it's 24/7. My main priority is getting those badges."
