KickOff.com can confirm that SuperSport United have released midfielder Tebogo Mokoena for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Mokoena has missed Amajita's opening game, in which they lost 2-1 to Japan, on Sunday due to club commitments, but has been released by United.

This comes after Matsatsantsa sealed their place in the Nedbank Cup final, overcoming Chippa United on penalties in East London on Saturday afternoon.

Club spokesperson David Sikhosane has confirmed that Mokoena has jetted out to join his teammates ahead of their must-win game against Italy on Wednesday.

"The club has released Mokoena. He should be joining the squad in Korea this week," Skhosane tells this website.

Meanwhile, the rest of the SuperSport team have flown out to Gabon for their CAF Confederation group fixture against CF Mounana on Tuesday (16h00).
