Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has congratulated Bidvest Wits counterpart Gavin Hunt for winning the title race this season, and looks forward to reviving hostilities next term.
Wits dethroned Sundowns with a 2-0 win over Polokwane City on Wednesday night as the Brazilians were held to a 2-2 draw by Maritzburg United in the penultimate round of fixtures.
Hunt joined Gordon Igesund and the late Ted Dumitru on four PSL titles apiece, having thrice won the topflight with SuperSport United from 2007 to 2010.
Mosimane, the CAF Coach of the Year, gave credit to the former Hellenic defender for his latest triumph.
"I would like to congratulate ‘Huntie’ for winning his fourth league title." Mosimane is quoted as saying on his club's website.
"It was a healthy and competitive race and he deserves the title.
"This is the beauty of football, let’s do it again next season."
Downs will aim to hold onto second spot in the standings - to ensure CAF Champions League football next season - when they conclude their domestic campaign against relegation-threatened Highlands Park in Tembisa on May 27.
