Mamelodi Sundowns relinquished their PSL title to Bidvest Wits on Wednesday night following a 2-2 draw with Maritzburg United at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Brian Onyango and Zimbabwean hitman Evans Rusike scored either side of the break for the resurgent Team of Choice, who remain on track to qualify for next season's MTN8 heading into the final round of fixtures on May 27.
Sundowns, who netted two goals at the death through Yannick Zakri and still have their CAF Champions League title to defend this season, were left sweating over the fitness of defender Bangaly Soumahoro and attacker Khama Billiat after the pair went off with injuries in Atteridgeville.
The second-placed Brazilians will conclude their league campaign against relegation-threatened Highlands Park in Tembisa, while Maritzburg will host Bloemfontein Celtic at Harry Gwala Stadium.
Wits clinched their maiden topflight title with a match to spare as they beat Polokwane City 2-0 at Bidvest Stadium.
The Clever Boys struck in either half via James Keene and decorated winger Daine Klate, who earned a record sixth league winners' medal.
