Cape Town City preparing bid for SuperSport United's Thato Mokeke

Posted: 16 May 2017 Time: 22:17 can reveal that Cape Town City are ready to place an offer for the services of Thato Mokeke after the defender enjoyed a great season with the club.

Mokeke is currently on loan at the Citizens from SuperSport United.

City boss John Comitis says his club will make a few signings for next term, and while he rates Mokeke highly he was reluctant to comment on the player in respect of their loan deal with SuperSport.

"Mokeke is a great player. He is currently on loan from SuperSport United," says Comitis.

"We don't wanna make too many sweeping changes. If we would have two starting lineup players or maybe three at most that will be great for us."

Meanwhile, Comitis is pleased with the support the Telkom Knockout champions have received in the Mother City in their first year of existence.

"This is what we have been trying to do, build the fan culture that never existed in Cape Town, especially for football. For us it has been a lot of wins in this procedure. This is not only what's happening on the pitch, it's about the city as well, it's about football in the Cape. If it continues like this there is a great future for this club," concludes the former Ajax Cape Town boss, who formed City last year after buying the topflight status of Mpumalanga Black Aces.
