Nigerian midfielder Ejike Uzoenyi is skating on thin ice at BidVest Wits where he is unlikely to get a contract extension following a disappointing stay with the club.
Uzoenyi joined Wits in February on a deal running up to the end of the season with an option of an extension.
However, word reaching KickOff.com is that Uzoenyi will be allowed to leave at the end of the campaign to open up another foreign spot for next term.
Uzoenyi was pulled out in both of the games that he started in the Nedbank Cup, lasting 73 minutes against Cape All Town Stars while he only played the first half in the penalty shootout defeat to Jomo Cosmos.
In the league he has played just 42 minutes spread over two substitute appearances but has a goal to his name which he scored against Polokwane City.
His application and the subsequent game-time that he has had at Wits is not what the club expected to get out of him.
He has previously been with Mamelodi Sundowns where he also didn’t enjoy game-time during his time at Chloorkop.
