Mamelodi Sundowns willing to entertain offers of R3million for striker Bonginkosi Ntuli

KickOff.com has been informed that Mamelodi Sundowns are only willing to accept R3million for striker Bonginkosi Ntuli.

Ntuli signed a three-year deal with Sundowns in 2014 from Golden Arrows, although he has twice been loaned out, to AmaZulu and currently Platinum Stars, after failing to establish himself in Pitso Mosimane's side.

And, the PSL and CAF Champions League champions want to recoup all the money they paid Arrows for Ntuli, 26, who has only made two substitutes appearances for Sundowns, who sent him to Usuthu just six months after he joined the Pretoria-based side.

Having shown his abilities with six goals in 13 appearances for AmaZulu, where he relegated Bongani Ndulula to the bench, he was called up by then Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba for the first match of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers, against Gambia, although he only made his national debut the following game, a friendly against Angola in Cape Town.

According to a Sundowns source close to this website, the Tshwane giants are willing to entertain offers of R3m for Ntuli.

"Platinum Stars want to keep Bongi Ntuli on a permanent basis but Sundowns want R3million for the player, which is too much for the club of Platinum Stars," the source tells KickOff.com.

"But we'll wait and see. Probably, they [Sundowns] will lower their price for the player because he hasn't featured much for Sundowns."

Ntuli will see his contract with Sundowns come to an end this season, although the club are now expected to exercise the two-year option to renew, in order to cash in on the out-of-favour frontman.

The Pietermaritzburg-born striker, who scored five league goals in 19 appearances in a 2015/16 season which was disrupted by injuries, has found the back of the net three times in 17 league appearances so far.
