Having now fallen eight points off the mark with four games remaining AmaKhosi will know all too well that they only have themselves to blame.

Chiefs could have taken more than the single point they managed in their two most recent games against Cape Town City and SuperSport United, but failure to do so leaves them essentially playing for third place.

“We know that it is difficult,” says Paez.

“We drew important games in the last minute and if we had won those matches and collected those points maybe we would be first or second position. But now it is difficult but with four matches we have to play and see. If we have possibilities we have to keeping trying. We will play with the intention of winning all our remaining games,” he says.

The Venezuela forward has shown glimpses of becoming an influential factor in the attacking third for AmaKhosi since signing at the beginning of the year.

He will have yet another chance to add to his tally of four goals in all competitions so far when Chiefs host Golden Arrows tomorrow night at FNB Stadium (20h15).
