Roger Sikhakhane credits a massive team effort with Thanda Royal Zulu's promotion

Thanda Royal Zulu coach Roger Sikhakhane tells that Amabhubesi are not entering the Absa Premiership simply to add numbers, following their promotion.

Thanda bagged the NFD crown after beating Stellenbosch 2-1 at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex  on Wednesday.

Goals from Khotso Malope and Michael Gumede saw the KZN outfit to victory over the Western Cape promotion hopefuls and Sikhakhane was quick to credit his players.

“It will be unfair to take all the glory myself. The whole team deserve credit," the former Chippa United coach tells

“The management, players and technical team deserve the credit for hard work. It's a great feeling to be back in the PSL but there is still more work to be done because now it's a different league.

"However, one thing is for sure - Thanda are not coming to add numbers but to compete."

Skhakhane preferred to reserve comment about the possibility of adding playing personnel during the off-season.

“It's still too early to comment about that. We will discuss those issues at the end of the season," he says.
