Aubrey Modiba: SuperSport United full steam ahead

Posted: 2 May 2017 Time: 16:02

SuperSport United winger Aubrey Modiba insists the team will not take their foot of the pedal in their remaining five league games of the season.

Matsatsantsa, who are 10 points shy of the summit following a 2-2 draw with Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend, next host struggling Bloemfontein Celtic at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday (19h30).

“We are going to fight till the last match of the league. At this stage, anything can happen and no one wants to drop points," Modiba told his club's website.

"We were so unlucky on Saturday, we picked up a good momentum in the dying minutes of the match but a point is not a bad result at all.”

Modiba insists United, in fifth spot on the table, are taking the threat of 12th-placed Celtic seriously.

"We are not going to take this one lightly, we are aiming for three points so that we stay in the mix at the top.

"We are aware that our opponents are fighting to move out of the bottom half but it is not going to be an easy one against us come Tuesday [Wednesday] night," concluded Modiba, who netted a last-gasp equaliser against Amakhosi.
