Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen felt teenage debutant Romario Dlamini was part of an "outstanding" defensive effort in the 1-0 win over Platinum Stars in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.
Arrows advanced to the last-four - alongside cup holders SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates and Chippa United - courtesy of Musa Bilankulu's 40th minute goal at Princess Magogo Stadium.
While Abafana Bes'thende were lucky not to concede a late penalty when Nkosinathi Mthiyane used his hand to clear Siyabonga Zulu's header off the line, Larsen was pleased with his rearguard.
Larsen told his club's official website: "A solid team performance and a great result for the club. We had great shape and organisation for the entire match.
"Our defense was outstanding with [Limbikani] Mzava and [Nkanyiso] Mngwengwe marshalling with aplomb. We handed a debut to 19-year-old fullback Romario Dlamini and he did not disappoint giving a sterling performance. We could have gone into the break 2-0 up had [Knox] Mutizwa converted his one-versus-one chance with [Mbongeni] Mzimela.
"We had to deal with an aerial assault where Henrico Botes had to be kept in check and our defense and goalkeeper dealt with the threat very well.
"A great result for our supporters who have been behind the team from day one."
