Juventus dump Barcelona out of Champions League

Juventus advanced to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League with a 3-0 aggregate win over Barcelona, while Monaco progressed with a 6-3 defeat of Borussia Dortmund across two legs.

Juve held Barca to a goalless draw at Camp Nou on Wednesday night, having thumped the Catalans 3-0 in Turin.

It was a fiery opening to the contest with Gonzalo Higuain going close in the 14th minute when Paulo Dybala set up his compatriot who fired just wide with Marc-Andre ter Stegen concerned.

Lionel Messi missed a big chance on 20 minutes and went again close in the 32nd minute when Gianluigi Buffon saved his shot before the Argentina star put the ball into the side-netting.

After the interval, the South American genius then blasted over when he may have done better and then missed in the 56th minute past the post.

It wasn't the best game for the same player when he hooked over in the 68th minute after a mistake from Buffon. Two minutes later he again fired just wide after being set up by Sergi Roberto.

Neymar then conjured up a chance in the closing stages but Javier Mascherano was unlucky to see his effort saved by Buffon. There were no further scares as Juventus advanced to the next round.

Monaco later beat Dortmund 3-1 to also join European champions Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the last-four of the competition.

Leonardo Jardim's side took the lead early on through Kylian Mbappe's finish from close range, after Benjamin Mendy found space down the Monaco left flank. The hosts then doubled their lead after 17 minutes when Thomas Lemar's cross found the head of Radamel Falcao, who netted with a diving header.

Dortmund pulled one goal back in the 48th minute after Ousmane Dembele found Marco Reus, who made no mistake with his snap shot from inside the box.

Nine minutes from full-time, Monaco got their third when Valere Germain latched onto Lemar's cross.
