Chippa United midfielder Buyani Sali's season over

Chippa United midfielder Buyani Sali's season has come to a premature end after suffering a broken leg against Kaizer Chiefs.

Sali was forced off following a poor challenge from Lorenzo Gordinho during the Chilli Boys' 1-0 defeat away to Kaizer Chiefs in Nelspruit last Saturday.

The club have since confirmed that the 27-year-old has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a fractured shinbone.

"Sali sustained an un-displaced tibial fracture during Saturday’s match," team physio Mark Anderson told the club's website.

"There seemed to be contact on the inside of his right tibia resulting in the fracture. He will be in a cast for 6 weeks, and will be sidelined for the rest of the season."
