Kaizer Chiefs believe Tsepo Masilela will be fit for their Nedbank Cup tie at the weekend

Kaizer Chiefs left-back Tsepo Masilela should be fit for the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash with SuperSport United on Saturday.

Masilela picked up a thigh strain in the 1-0 victory over Chippa United at the weekend, and although the injury is not said to be serious, will be rested in training this week.

But club physiotherapist Dave Milner believes at this stage that the experienced former Bafana Bafana will be ready to meet Matsatsantsa.

Coach Steve Komphela admits that with games coming thick and fast to the end of the season, it is a juggling act to make sure all his players stay fresh.

“We are currently getting the bodies back into shape,” he told his club’s website. “We will work in steps to get the lads ready for the next match. It is not easy but, they look very good.”

Chiefs are currently on a 14-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
