Clayton Daniels not focussing on revenge against Mamelodi Sundowns

SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels says a better performance, rather than revenge, will be his side’s focus ahead of their second meeting with Mamelodi Sundowns in a week.
The two Pretoria rivals will meet again midweek in a league encounter on Wednesday as Sundowns play catch-up, having dispatched their opponents 5-0 in a one-way rout on Thursday.
Yet Daniels, scorer of the opening own goal in that encounter, insists Matsatsantsa’s focus is on themselves, and not their rivals, ahead of round two.
"We are not thinking about revenge, but about playing a much better match,” he told KickOff.com.
"A proud game that we could be proud of ourselves, and play the way we know we can."
Before that clash, however, is a CAF Confederation Cup second leg clash against Liberian outfit Barrack Young Controllers on Sunday, with the two sides locked at 1-1 following their first leg encounter last weekend.
And Daniels says the team will treat both games with the respect that they deserve.
"Both are important, so there's no concern with any of them,” he said. “They are both important and we've prepared well for both."
Daniels would not commit himself when asked if he thought SuperSport still stand a chance of winning the league title from their current fifth-placed position.
"We will give it our all and to fight till the end," he said.
